Here is the full shot that combines our four shots together. I was responsible for the shot 1 and shot 4.
My Responsibility for shot 1 & shot 4
Keying & Roto the Character
Sky Replacement
Color-correction
Clean up the Background Person
Fog Integration
CGI Integration
Obelisk Effects Creation
Facial Effects Comp
1. Keying & Roto
I found the keying is the trickiest part of this comp, it took me so long to key the actor due to the strong light and shadow from sun light.

2. Sky Replacement
I haven't tried to replacement the whole sky with a long establishing shot before, so it is a very great attempt to do that, it feels like I am more familiar with spherical sky replacement now.

3. Color Correction
The whole shot and all cg elements have different color grading, so I need to keep tweaking each of them separately back and forth. I would never know how it looks like until all elements are already in the scene.
4. Cleanup
The fog helps the cleanup a lot and distract the attention of the background paint.
5. Fog Integration
There three layers of fog in total

6. CGI Integration
I integrate the CGI and color correct them to match the atmosphere of the scene, and I need to add some keyframes to the obelisk since it could not totally cover the tripod for some frames.

7. Obelisk Effects Creation
2D obelisk effects with 3d camera movement.

8. Facial Effects Comp
I create the effects with three color layers to make the cracking has the sense of depth.

If I Have Two More Weeks
Try volumetric fog instead of video footage because it is hard to control its speed, direction and density.
Try adding some grass around the bottom of the obelisk to make the whole scene more realistic.
Refine the overall roto.
Slow down the speed of the facial effects fading, because the fading process is a bit hard to observe.
